At GlobalConnect we are looking for two Data Center Service and Installation Technicians for our new team to perform our remote hands and smart hands services. We are therefore looking for both someone who can deal with smaller technical tasks and also someone with greater expertise and experience that can handle more extensive and larger tasks.

GlobalConnect owns and operates 12 data centers in Denmark and even more in the other countries where GlobalConnect is present. As our new Service and Installation Technician, you will be part of a department with 36 skilled colleagues, with colleagues in Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany, and from many nationalities, enabling you to work in a multinational environment. 

Responsibilities

As a Service and Installation Technician, amongst other tasks, your primary responsibilities will include either remote hands and/or smart hands services. 
You will play a vital part in the daily operations of our data center facilities. From basic observations, on-site services, and reporting on the customer's environment, to receiving and transporting packages and equipment, you will be a key player in maintaining a smooth workflow. Your tasks will include assisting with rack placement and installation, conducting customer introduction walkthroughs for new installations, and escorting vendors and customers within the customer area.

You'll collaborate with internal and external technicians to handle various tasks related to maintenance, customer installations, expansions, and more. Auditing racks and cages, performing simple administrative tasks, and ensuring overall Data Center cleanliness will be part of your routines. Your responsibilities will also involve visual inspections of devices and rack power distribution units (PDUs), as well as the installation and removal of customer equipment components.

Other tasks extend to more complex duties such as blade/card installations, memory and hard drive installations or removals, power cycling of customer equipment, and assisting with the diagnosis of hardware. You'll be actively involved in the migration of equipment, power, or networking devices, connecting systems to networks, and ensuring the overall functionality of critical systems.

About you

We are looking for an energetic person who wants to share and acquire new skills. You thrive in a varied work environment where tasks can arise at short notice. You would like to have experience in the daily operations of a Data Center. In addition, you have several of the following qualifications:
•    Relevant technical background or practical experience (craftsman or previous experience in operation and maintenance)
•    Have experience/knowledge of operation and maintenance of technical facilities and installations
•    Experienced PC user and experience with the Office suite
•    Meeting customer and government security screening requirements are required for this role.
•    Driving license category B
•    Forklift certificate (nice to have)

It’s also an advantage if you know the industry, but also if you have an interest in the Data Center field.
