About the Role:

With continued growth plans and high investment rates to expand, GlobalConnect is increasingly becoming more vulnerable to hackers and cyber adversaries, hence the role needs someone with the necessary experience and motivation to make a mark and influence! The role is top priority for achieving the overall strategy of GlobalConnect and making sure our network, our systems and our client’s data are safe and secure. This is crucial for our business. 
 

As our IT Security Lead, your role will be central in strengthening our IT security, risk management, and compliance strategies. You’ll work across the organization to ensure security-by-design principles are embedded in every stage, from system development to decommissioning, while staying compliant with industry standards and regulations.
 

On any given day, you might collaborate with various teams to set security requirements for new projects, conduct risk assessments, or provide critical guidance to ensure our IT environment remains robust and secure. You’ll play a vital role in aligning security initiatives with business priorities, while continuously monitoring for changes in relevant regulations.
 

What You'll Do:

• Shape and enhance our IT security architecture with security-by-design principles.
• Lead risk management efforts, including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning.
• Ensure security policies are followed and adapted to evolving regulatory standards.
• Conduct security assessments and audits.
• Develop and maintain metrics to monitor and report on the effectiveness of IT security and compliance programs, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training for employees to ensure that they understand the importance of security practices and can recognize potential security threats

To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:

• Solid experience, ready for more senior responsibility, in cybersecurity or IT within regulated industries (e.g., telecom, finance).
• Strong understanding of common IT security threats and vulnerabilities, with expertise in mitigating them through configuration management, patch management, vulnerability management, and penetration testing.
• Proficiency in endpoint and application security practices and application vulnerability assessments.
• Knowledge of IT security principles and practices, with solid familiarity with industry frameworks such as NIST, ISO 2700x, and CIS.
• Familiarity with secure development practices, security assessments, and data privacy regulations.
• Fluent in written and spoken Business English, capable of effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
